Darby Monger
Darby Monger has been a Coronado resident for 30 years. Prior to residing in Coronado, she traveled the world, first as the daughter of a career Naval Officer, and later as a Navy wife. Those travels took her from Yokosuka, Japan to Paris, France, the Midwest, and both Coasts.
While raising three daughters in Coronado, Darby spent ten years as a weekly columnist for the Coronado Journal covering all facets of life with regard to the colorful citizens of the island community. In 1995, she helped her husband found The Monger Company, a government relations and public affairs firm located in downtown San Diego. At The Monger Company she wore many hats, primarily as Vice President and CFO, instituting and maintaining all accounting and bookkeeping procedures. As well, she helped write and produce radio commercials and print media, and she worked on several large public outreach campaigns for healthcare issues and ballot measures.
In 2005 Darby opted to pursue real estate where she could use her experience and knowledge in a more visual arena, specializing in space planning and design. She brings added value to clients by having developed a keen ability to quickly visualize the possibilities of each property being viewed. Her assessments uncover the untapped potential of a room, how the room or rooms interface with the whole house, and factoring in the needs of the client, optimizing the appearance and function of the home and property. As well, that talent extends to the furniture, fixtures and incidentals, a service offered to sellers needing assistance staging their property.
